A real team performance as the Sonics progressed into the Semi Final of their Cup competition.

Quarter final cup day today for the sonics. From the off we attacked hard and importantly as a TEAM. William today got the start of the goals with a lovely lob of the ball from just past the half way line… the crowd went wild!

Tom demanded the centre mid role and distributed the ball out wide very well, he went in goal for a quarter today and nearly gave Mum a heart attack… clean sheet and smile from him!

Jenson played wing and also centre mid and he showed today what intelligence he has when playing centre mid, some excellent distribution of the ball to the wings and moving into space to aid his team to attack the goal.

Ben was in goal today in the first half and had a fairly quiet half, he then went outfield and played winger and striker and ran his socks off using that stored energy, he was fighting for every ball, dribbling with it and had a strong strike on goal.

James outfield played a few roles today and used his power to direct the ball forwards and at pace, he was full of energy and worked well with the centre mid to attack the goal, he also went very close to scoring at the end of game.

Freya in defence was attacking the ball and directing it along the wing to George, she worked well with William in defence to cover all balls and discuss who would go up the pitch when it was a corner. George was predominantly left wing and found space on many occasions, put in some excellent crosses of the ball and was rewarded with a goal hinself, he also went in goal for a quarter and had a good few saves to make, another clean sheet.

Leighton played on the wing and was progressing up the pitch constantly, winning tackles and dribbling forwards where possible, he was looking for the cross into the box and delivered some strong balls for our striker. Jack was striker today and cherished the role, he was always trying to get on the end of a cross into the box and was battling hard when in the box to win the ball on the ground and find the net, he found it twice!

Jake commanded the right wing extremely well today especially in the first half, he had some lovely footwork, fast runs forwards past the opposition, numerous crosses into the box and on one shot was rewarded with a goal himself! It was brilliant to see that smile on Jakes face and for all of his efforts he was awarded player of the week.

Well done Jake and all the sonics we progress to a semi final for the first time ever… well deserved.
