Today was a game for digging in and full effort. All children worked hard throughout the game against a very skillful opposition.

William worked in defence in the first half and upfront in the second, he made some really strong and well timed tackles to prevent the oppositions flow. Ben was strong in goal and when on the pitch made some excellent tackles, runs with the ball and covered in defence when needed.

Kayden worked in a central role throughout and pushed the ball forwards and made some well needed strong tackles. Jake worked hard pushing the ball forwards towards the goal, he had some good movement on and off the ball and was rewarded with two goals.

Jack went in goal and in an attacking role, he covered both positions well and tackled at the right moment and also read the game and covered in defence when the defenders had committed to a tackle, something he really has improved on.

James took a knock in the warm up and felt better to go on in the first half, he made some good strong tackles, pushed the ball forwards and when in goal made some good saves.

Freya remained in defence for the majority of the game, she read the game well today and had worked on this as her challenge, she wasn’t scared of putting in a strong tackle and she allowed the ball to progress up the pitch, her all round effort today in a hard game, earned her the player of the week.
