Played top tier Romulus today and what a game!

We had a shaky start and took a little while to settle possibly knowing we were playing a team tiered above us, but we matched them totally!

Freya and William in defence worked close together to support each other and keep out the attack of the opposition, William also had a stint on the right wing and did an excellent job and livened up the sonics. Jack as striker or winger was eager to attack the play and get the ball and progress it towards goal. Leighton was wing and defence throughout the game and was solid in his positioning and control of the ball.

Tom as centre mid worked extremely hard throughout the game and took all opportunities to attack the goal.

Jake had been a constant threat on the wing and was working hard to keep attacking goal and with a minute to go scored his goal his face and celebration summed up the amazing game the sonics had had!

In the warm up we had practiced corners and James who had been working extremely hard as striker and remaining strong on the ball slotted home a goal from a corner on his first touch, it was so very deserved as he has started to establish himself over the past few weeks as a strong and competent striker. This week Ben who predominantly plays in goal was poorly, George however offered to play a quarter with three other players, again showing their team spirit. George in the first 10 minutes had made so many excellent saves we asked him if he would do a half, as he walked over at half time he said I will play the whole game in goal and what a game he had, he denied the opposition so many goals, was jumping here there and every where and was immense!

Today due to the ability on the pitch, team effort, goal scored, effort over the past few weeks we for the first time this season had two players of the week and they were James and George! So very proud of every single sonic player today and especially James and George.
