Mature Performance From William

Mature Performance From William

Chad Brindley10 Feb - 20:53

The Sonics were sporting a new kit and played a great game.

Full squad, new away kit and off to an excellent start!

Jenson in centre mid had a fantastic start directing the ball out to the wings, making lovely runs and using some pace and strength at the correct times. Sadly Jenson took a bad knock and had to leave before half time, all sonics hope he is back fighting fit soon.

Jake on the wings during the game ran the line at speed, pushed forwards throughout and was making some excellent space for himself continuously throughout the game. Ben in goal was amazing with his safe hands, made many great stops, was first to the ball and went in for 50:50 balls with strength.

Freya as left back was talking to the boys loads and directing team mates today, this we have been encouraging for a while, she was strong to the ball and had some lovely kicks from the sideline into the box.

Leighton as right back was solid throughout the game, he was constantly watching the play, making the right move forwards and brilliant decisions when on the ball.

George on the left wing was making some brilliant breaks down the line, crossing when the moment was right and allowed and challenged for the ball with great strength against a pushy opponent.

Tom in centre mid was using his magic footwork to get round the opponents, he took many knocks as his skills were outdoing the opposition and something he was using to come out on top, he also had a few pushes of the ball towards goal.

Jack was solid today as striker, he was holding the ball up well, getting into some great positions and his team encouragement shone through, good game all round for Jack with attempts on goal.

James also as striker was strong, not giving up on his tackles, forever fighting to get the ball and rattling the opposition, he also got a well taken goal for his excellent efforts. William today from the blow of the whistle played with maturity, speed, superb skill and a resilient attitude, he progressed the ball forwards towards goal, but also was strong today as he tracked back and helped in defence when needed. William starting moments and all round efforts throughout the whole game saw him as player of the week. Well done William and all of the sonics!
