Division 4 Bosworth took on Division 2 side in today cup game. What a great start for the lads who raced into an early lead with a cooly finished goal from today’s player of the Match Rory H. This caught the opposition out and if they thought it was going to be a walk over against the lower division side then this gave them an early reality check.

Bosie managed to hold the lead for around 15 mins before a defensive error gave Countersthorpe a route out. 1-1.

Countersthorpe then started to control the game and pushed hard for a second. 1-2.

You would have expected Bosies inexperienced and newly formed team to drop their heads…….

Not the case, immediately from the restart and a well worked passing move from Sean, Rory and Reuben ended with a deserved equaliser from Reuben S. 2-2 and 25 mins played.

The game moved from end to end for the next 5 mins before a racking pass from there left back to there right winger was controlled well and a pin point cross was met with an excellent Bicycle kick into Bosies top left. 2-3.

Bosie then had a couple of defensive wobbles and ended up conceding a penalty and a further outfield goal before half time. 2-5.

Second half was a lot better from Bosworth. Really started to look like a team that are now starting to play together, trusting each other and can clearly say are now a proper men’s team.

Unfortunately Bosie had 4 very good chances to score but with a good goalkeeper performance from Countesthorpe and may be a little more composure, this tie could have been closer than what the score suggested.
